Upsets No. 32-ranked Singles Player In Loss to No. 10 Lander
CLINTON,
S.C. – In a battle of two top 20 teams, No. 10 Lander
University claimed a 8-1 victory over No. 20 Presbyterian
College on Thursday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis
Courts.
The Blue Hose drop to 12-5 on the season and
remain 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Bearcats
improve to 11-5 overall and remain 5-1 in Peach Belt
Conference action.
Matthew
Martin had the only victory on the day for Blue Hose with a
score of 64, 7-5 at No. 2 singles. He upset the No.
32-ranked singles player in the country Nicolas Legros, who
was also named the PBC Player of the Week for men's tennis.
The Blue Hose
return to action at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 6 against
Tusculum in Greeneville, Tenn.
