PC Opens Season With
7-2 Win Over North Greenville
CLINTON, S.C. – No. 20 Presbyterian
College opened its 2007 season with a 7-2 victory over North
Greenville University at the Templeton Tennis Center on
Saturday afternoon.
Presbyterian opened the match by taking
all three of the doubles matches. Presbyterian’s doubles
tandem of Aaron Chapman-Matthew Martin won at No. 1 doubles
by defeating the Crusaders’ Gabriel Altamayer-William Ho by
a score of 8-4.
Ruan Oliver-Andrew Lee made the score
2-0 in favor of PC with their 8-6 win over North
Greenville’s Tomas Kurhajec-Rob Young. Presbyterian went up
3-0 when the doubles team of Michael Nicol-Zach Glanker
downed NGU’s Juan Carlos Aquilera-Jacob Rogers, 8-4.
In singles action on the day, PC’s
Aaron Chapman won at No. 1 singles with a straight set 6-1,
6-2 victory over the Crusaders’ Tomas Kurhajec. Matthew
Martin won at No. 2 singles for the Blue Hose with a 6-4,
6-2 win over Gabriel Altamayer.
Patrick Fediuk won at No. 5 singles
with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Juan Carlos Aquilera. Andrew Lee
improved to 1-0 in singles play on the year with a 6-1, 6-0
victory over North Greenville’s Jacob Rogers at No. 6
singles.
Presbyterian next welcomes Gardner-Webb
to the Templeton Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 17. The
match will get underway at 2 p.m.
