PC Loses First Of 2007
CLINTON, S.C. – No. 20 Presbyterian College fell to
Gardner-Webb 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Templeton Courts
to fall to 1-1 on the season.
The win was the first of the season for the Runnin’
Bulldogs.
Gardner-Webb garnered victories in all three of the doubles
matches on the afternoon, while the two teams split singles
play on Saturday.
Aaron Chapman won at No. 1 singles for PC, defeating Evgeny
Slesarev 7-5, 6-3. Teammate Mike Nicol downed Gabe Veiga,
6-3, 3-6, 7-6, at No. 4 singles.
Andrew Lee garnered Presbyterian’s other victory of the day,
picking up a 6-1, 6-4 win over Gardner-Webb’s Rafael
Altmeyer at No. 6 singles.
Presbyterian has one week off before welcoming Catawba to
Clinton next Saturday for the first South Atlantic
Conference match of the year for the Blue Hose.
