PC Men's Tennis Dominates Pfeiffer 9-0 On Friday

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – No. 30 Presbyterian College defeated Pfeiffer 9-0 on Friday afternoon to end the regular season with an overall record of 15-5 and 6-0 in South Atlantic Conference play.

Presbyterian opened the match by taking all three of the doubles matches. PC's #25 Aaron Chapman-#25 Matthew Martin won at No. 1 doubles by defeating Pfeiffer’s AJ Flores-Frank Pouchet with a score of 8-3.

In singles action on the day, PC’s Aaron Chapman won at No. 1 singles with a straight set 6-3, 6-1 victory over the Falcons’ AJ Flores to improve to 14-5 on the season . At No. 2 singles, Matthew Martin defeated TJ Maurer with a score of 6-1, 6-2 to end the season with a 16-3 record.

PC's Ruan Olivier defeated the Falcon's Mangal Sriram 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to improve his overall record to 11-9 while Michael Nicol picked up a point for the Blue Hose with his win at No. 4 singles over Guilherme Chiarmonti to improve to 11-7 on the season.

Patrick Fediuk won at No. 5 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Frank Pouchet to improve to 16-4 overall. Andrew Lee improved to 15-4 in singles play on the year with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Pfeiffer's Cody Simpson at No. 6 singles.

As the top seed, the Blue Hose receive a bye to the SAC Tournament semifinal round but they return to action on Friday, April 20 at 9 a.m. in Clinton, S.C. when they face the winner of the Catawba-Mars Hill quarterfinals match.
