PC Men’s Tennis Stays Undefeated In League
Play With Victory Over TC
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The No. 30
Presbyterian College men's tennis team claimed at least a
share of its seventh South Atlantic Conference championship
with Friday's 7-2 win over host Tusculum College at the
Nichols Tennis Complex.
The
Blue Hose improve to 13-5 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Tusculum will finish no worse than second in the SAC as the
Pioneers fall to 11-5 and 5-1 in the SAC.
Presbyterian can clinch the outright title with a win over
Wingate on Saturday in Clinton.
PC
swept all three doubles points and won four of the five
singles matches to claim the victory. Zach Glankler and
Andrew Lee outlasted the TC duo of Leo Guaycurus and
Henrique Rodrigues 9-7 at No. 2 doubles.
Tusculum (ranked No. 38 in NCAA II) trimmed the deficit to
3-2 as Sergio Espinosa and Carlos Garcia claimed straight
set wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Matt
Martin defeated Nicolas Bigler 6-3, 7-6 at No. 2 singles,
while Pat Fediuk clinched the winning point at the fifth
flight with his 6-1, 6-1 win over Guaycurus.
