Katie Wallace named ROCK
HILL, S.C. -- Wingate University junior
pitcher Katie Wallace was named the
Most Valuable Player of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Softball
Tournament, after leading the Bulldogs to the tournament title. For the tournament, Wallace
threw four complete games (29.0 innings), with a 4-0 record, a 2.79 ERA and 15
strikeouts. Wallace was one of five Bulldogs on the All-Tournament team. Also
making the squad from Wingate were Grace
Cunningham, Amy Parmalee, Stephanie
White and Cameron Langston. White hit .333 during the
tournament with three RBI, while Langston hit .364 with one RBI. Parmalee hit
.455 during the tournament with three RBI and Cunningham hit .400, including
going 3-for-4 with an RBI in the championship game. Runner-up Carson-Newman
placed three on the All-Tournament team: pitcher Megan
Elliott, Lisa Rogers and Brooke
Randolph. Representing Presbyterian
College were Amanda Teal
and Beth
Rocker. The final member of the All-Tournament team is Misty
Bingham of Lenoir-Rhyne. |
