TEAL AND WINGATE’S WALLACE NAMED ROCK HILL, S.C. —

Teal and Wingate University’s pitcher Katie
Wallace
were named this week’s South Atlantic Conference Softball
Position Player and Pitcher of the Week selections announced
today.
For the week,
Teal hit .765 with 12 runs scored, one double, two triples,
one homerun, seven RBI, posted a 1.235% slugging percentage
and an.800 on-base percentage. She hit safely in all six games
and had five multi-hit games to her credit. For the season she
is hitting .750 at the plate with a 1.125% slugging
percentage, .793 on-base percentage, with 15 runs scored, 11
RBI, two doubles, two triples, one homerun and three stolen
bases on as many attempts. Wallace, a
senior pitcher from Naples, Fla. (Naples HS), won four games
last week as the Bulldogs compiled a 4-2 overall record for
the week. Wallace won games against St. Andrews College,
Longwood University and a pair of shutout wins over Augusta
State University this past weekend. For the week, Wallace was 4-0 with a 0.26 ERA. She allowed only one
earned run in 27 innings pitched while striking out 20 batters
and surrendering only six walks. For the season, Wallace has a
0.22 ERA and is 5-0 on the young season. She earns SAC Pitcher
of the Week honors for the second straight week. The South
Atlantic Conference players of the week are determined by a
vote of the league’s eight Sports Information Directors. SAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
