BLUE HOSE SOFTBALL DEFEATS FLYING FLEET 6-3 IN GAME ONE
Game two called due to darkness

CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College softball team defeated Erskine College in game one 6-3. Senior Brooke Norris (Anderson, S.C.) and picked up her third victory of the year and extended PC's win streak to eight straight games Tuesday afternoon at the PC Softball Complex.  Game two was called due to darkness.

GAME #1 — PRESBYTERIAN 6, ERSKINE 3

In the bottom of the first, Presbyterian's freshman second baseman Rachel Bailey (Howard, OH) led the game off with a single. After senior shortstop Jamie Vining (Fayetteville, Ga.) sacrificed bunted Bailey to second, Senior Amanda Teal (Chapin, S.C.) doubled off the fence to drive her in for a 1-0 lead. Teal would score in the inning also on Olivia Gordon's (Boothwyn, PA) ground out to short for the second run. 

With PC up 2-0, Erskine rallied to score one run in the top of the second. Charlene Ashby (Pickens, SC) doubled and scored on a bunt single by Elizabeth Miller (Hodges, SC). 

In the third, Erskine's Jenna Burdete (Iva, SC) and Rebecca Clontz (Asheville, NC) singled to led off the inning. Burdete ended up scoring to tie the game at two a piece on a fielders choice by Ashby. 

The Blue Hose regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth by scoring four runs to take a 6-2 lead. 

Erskine scored one run in the top of the fifth to make it a 6-3 game but could not overcome the deficit. 

PC's Norris picked up the win with the 6-3 victory while Erskine's junior pitcher Kim Gunter (Batesburg, SC) picked up the loss for the Flying Fleet. 

The second game of the doubleheader was called due to darkness.
