PRESBYTERIAN SOFTBALL WINS TWO GAMES AT THE FRANCIS MARION UNIVERSITY PATRIOT TOURNAMENT  

FLORENCE, S.C. --Presbyterian College Lady Blue Hose won two of five games this past weekend at the Francis Marion University Patriot Tourney. 

GAME #1 — PRESBYTERIAN 8, FRANCIS MARION 5

The Lady Blue Hose defeated Francis Marion University in game one, 8-5, with junior Lauren Hixson (Spartanburg, SC) hitting a walk-off homerun in the eighth inning.

GAME #2 KENNESAW STATE 3, PRESBYTERIAN 0

Presbyterian fell to #1 Kennesaw State University, 3-0, in game two. The Owls were led by Amy Middleton who went 3-4 with a run scored. PC's Brooke Norris (Anderson, SC) picked up her first loss of the season while Tara Hrycuik picked up the win for Kennesaw State.

GAME #3 ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC 3, PRESBYTERIAN 2

On Saturday, March 13th the Lady Blue Hose fell to Armstrong Atlantic, 3-2. Presbyterian had the lead, 2-1, before entering the seventh inning. The Owls were able to score two runs as Kissy Stepanova hit a two run homerun go give Armstrong the 3-2 victory.

GAME #4 USC-SPARTANBURG 8, PRESBYTERIAN 7

On Sunday, March 14th PC fell to the Lady Rifles of USC-Spartanburg, 8-7. Leading the Lady Blue Hose at the plate was freshman Jessica Peterka (Sarasota, FL) who went 1-4 including a two run homerun. Jennifer Whited (Spartanburg, SC) picked up the win for USC-Spartanburg while sophomore Samantha Slater  (Westerville, OH) picked up the loss for the Blue Hose.

GAME #5 PRESBYTERIAN 5, AUGUSTA STATE 3

In the last game of the Tournament for the Blue Hose, PC defeated Augusta State, 5-3. Peterka led PC at the plate by going 2-3 with two RBI's and a run scored. Slater picked up the victory for the Blue Hose while Sirmans picked up the loss for Augusta State.
