PRESBYTERIAN’S
JESSICA PETERKA NAMED SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE ROCK HILL, S.C. — Presbyterian College’s Jessica Peterka has been named this week’s South Atlantic Conference Softball Position Player of the Week selections announced today.
In
PC’s two-game sweep of North Greenville, Peterka hit .400
with three RBI and added another RBI versus USC Aiken. At the
classic, Peterka opened with a 3-for-4 performance with two
RBI in PC’s 6-2 win over Queens University. In PC’s 3-2
win over Longwood, she opened the game with a two-run homer to
put PC ahead 2-0. She led PC to a 4-0 shutout over USC
Spartanburg by going 2-for-4 at the plate and followed up with
a 1-for-3 performance against Belmont Abbey College including
a solo homerun for PC’s only score in the 2-1 loss. For
the season, she is hitting .370 with a .619 slugging
percentage, .432 on-base percentage and is tied for the team
lead in homeruns (6) to go along with a team-best 42 RBI and
eight doubles. The
South Atlantic Conference players of the week are determined
by a vote of the league’s eight Sports Information
Directors.
