PRESBYTERIAN’S
SLATER NAMED SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE ROCK
HILL, S.C. — Presbyterian
College’s Samantha
Slater
was named this week’s South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of
the Week selections announced today.
On
the week, she posted a 2-0 mark on the mound with a
0.00 ERA in 13.0 innings of work. Slater gave up only seven
total hits in her two starts and only one extra base hit while
not allowing a walk and striking out six batters. For the
season, Slater has a10-2 record on the mound with a 1.46 ERA
in 115.0 innings of work. In PC’s
4-0 win over Carson-Newman College on the road, she pitched a
complete game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out
five Lady Eagle batters. In PC’s 6-0 victory over Mars Hill
College at home, she pitched six solid innings of shutout ball
allowing three hits while striking out two batters and did not
allow an extra base hit. The
South Atlantic Conference players of the week are determined
by a vote of the league’s eight Sports Information
Directors.
