AUGUSTA STATE SWEEPS PAIR FROM BLUE HOSE

AUGUSTA, GA – The Augusta State University softball team swept a doubleheader from Presbyterian College Saturday afternoon, winning the first game 5-1 before coming back and taking a 6-5 victory in game two.

In the first game, the game was tied at one in the bottom of the sixth inning when freshman Anna Tedder (Watkinsville, GA) hit a one-out grand slam to give Augusta State the victory.

Amy Dumas (McDonough, GA) picked up the victory for the Jags, while Megan Wheelus took the loss for PC.

In game two, ASU scored five runs in the sixth and seventh innings to come back from a 5-1 deficit and take the 6-5 win.

Kellyn Henderson (Simpsonville, SC) led PC with two hits.

Christine Gisler (Peachtree City, GA) picked up the win for ASU, while Jessica Flanagan (Piedmont, SC) took the loss for PC.

The Blue Hose will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Charlotte, NC to take on Queens University in a 1 pm doubleheader.
