CRUSADERS SWEEP SOFTBALL DOUBLEHEADER FROM PC

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – North Greenville College swept a doubleheader from Presbyterian College Tuesday afternoon, winning the first game 3-2 and taking the second game 1-0.

In the first game, PC (31-21) jumped on the board first in the fourth when Jessica Peterka (Sarasota, FL) hit her first homerun of the season.

North Greenville took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth with three runs on three hits.

Tina Deveaux (Simpsonville, SC) and Peterka led the Lady Blue Hose with two hits.

Olivia Hazel (Chesapeake City, MD) took the loss for PC despite allowing just two earned runs on four hits.

In the second game, North Greenville pushed across the only run of the game in the fifth off of an error.

Kellyn Henderson (Simpsonville, SC) and Lindsay Wismer (Sarasota, FL) both had two hits to lead PC at the plate.

Jean Smith (Tampa, FL) took the loss for PC despite allowing no earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

PC will be back in action Friday morning as they take part in the 2005 Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Tournament beginning at 11:00 am at Cherry Park in Rock Hill, S.C.
