LADY PACERS SWEEP BLUE HOSE

CLINTON, S.C. – The USC-Aiken Lady Pacers sweep a softball doubleheader from Presbyterian College Tuesday afternoon, winning the first game, 5-1 before taking the nightcap 5-0.

In the first game, junior Stacie Oakley (Burlington, NC) pitched a complete game four hitter with 12 strikeouts to help the Lady Pacers (7-1) to the victory.

After PC knotted up the score at one in the bottom of the fourth, USCA added two runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead for good and added two more in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Sarah Harvey (Newberry, SC) led the Lady Pacers with three hits, while four other batters had one each. No Blue Hose batter had more than one hit.

In the second game, USCA scored five runs in the top of the second and then held on for the shutout victory.

Samantha Blair (Deltona, FL) picked up the victory on the mound, allowing four hits in five and a third innings. Oakley came on in relief and recorded five strikeouts.

Harvey and Temeka Floyd (Newberry, SC) both had two hits to lead the Lady Pacer nine-hit attack. No Blue Hose hitter had more than one hit.

PC will be back in action Saturday as they travel to Augusta, GA to take on Augusta State in a 1 pm doubleheader. USCA will be back in action Thursday as they host Pfeiffer College in a 4 pm doubleheader.
