The 2008 PC softball schedule will feature 10 home doubleheaders. The Blue Hose will have a total of 21 home games as they will also welcome future Big South rival Winthrop to the PC Softball Complex for one game at 4 p.m. on Apr. 17. Another feature of PC’s 2008 schedule is that the Blue Hose will be playing in the Charlotte Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. and the Stetson Tournament in DeLand, Fla. “I was really excited about showing our first NCAA Division I softball schedule to our fans because I think it is one that will not only be challenging, but will allow Blue Hose fans to see high quality softball,” said Majeski. “Most importantly though, I think that this schedule will prepare us for our first full year of Big South play in the 2009 season.” The Blue Hose will face a variety of new opponents in their 2008 campaign, including teams from the Atlantic 10, the ACC, the SoCon, the Summit League and the SWAC. PC begins its season with a home doubleheader against Charlotte on Feb. 9. It will be the first of five home dates within the first month of play for the Blue Hose. PC will also welcome North Greenville, Oakland (Mich.), Mississippi Valley State and Western Carolina to the PC Softball Complex in February. PC will close out its 2008 regular season and home schedule on Apr. 24 with a home doubleheader against USC Upstate. It will be senior day for the Blue Hose where they will honor their two graduating seniors in Jenny Box and Cari Clark. |
