Anderson Joins PC
Softball Program
CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College
head softball coach Dave Majeski announced the signing of
Katie Anderson recently. Anderson joins the PC Softball
program from North Augusta High School in North Augusta,
S.C.
Coached by Derek Quinn at North
Augusta, Anderson comes to the Blue Hose softball program as
a first baseman.
“We are extremely excited about
bringing someone of Katie’s caliber into our program,” noted
Majeski. “She is not just a stellar athlete, but a
tremendous student and I feel that she will fit in nicely in
the Presbyterian College community. We expect great things
from Katie over the next few years.”
Anderson was the team captain at North
Augusta for the past two seasons. She earned all-region
plaudits the past two years and was also awarded the great
leader and outstanding defensive player award by Quinn.
A member of the Beta Club and the
National Honor Society, Anderson enters the PC softball
program under second-year head coach Dave Majeski with many
North Augusta softball records, including most hits in a
single contest (5), most doubles in a single game (4) and
highest career fielding percentage (.983).
In 83 at-bats in the 2007 season,
Anderson finished the year with 29 RBIs, seven doubles and
one home run. In total in her four years at North Augusta,
Anderson concluded things with exactly 100 RBIs, 29 doubles
and six home runs.
Anderson also finished her time at
North Augusta with a batting average of .339.
