Gordon Named SAC Pitcher Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Presbyterian’s Mary Gordon
was chosen as the South Atlantic Conference’s Pitcher of the
Week it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The honor is the first for the freshman.
Gordon was a perfect 5-0 from the
pitcher’s circle last week for the Lady Blue Hose. The
freshman pitched 32 innings and fanned 31 batters in a 7-2
week for PC.
Gordon surrendered just six earned runs
in the 32 innings.
The Kingswood Oxford School product
pitched her way to 19 strikeouts in her three appearances at
the 2007 Francis Marion Patriot Invitational last weekend.
The Vernon, Conn. native is now 10-0
from the circle in PC’s first 19 games of the 2007 campaign.
The South Atlantic Conference Player of
the Week is voted on by the Sports Information Directors of
the nine member schools.
