Stephanie
Allen enters her second season in charge of Presbyterian
College men and women’s Cross Country programs.
Allen also serves as the school’s head coach for the
women’s lacrosse program.
Allen, a
native or Columbus, Ohio, brings a wealth of experience in the
field of distance running to the Blue Hose programs having
competed in several competitive races including marathons.
She began her distance running career in high school,
running Cross Country before focusing solely on the sport of
lacrosse entering the college level.
She continues to be an active distance runner and is
continuing to train for several upcoming races.
Allen was a
four-year letter-winner in lacrosse at nearby Limestone
College in Gaffney, SC. During
her collegiate career, she served as team captain and was
selected to play in the NCAA Division II Women’s All-Star
North-South Lacrosse Game following her senior season.
In addition, she was selected to play for the Southeast
Women’s National Team in 2000 and served as a player and a
coach for the Eltham Senior Women’s Lacrosse team in
Australia in 2001. Allen
graduated from Limestone College with a bachelors of Arts
degree in Graphic Design and Studio Art with a minor in
Computer Science in 2003.
Following
graduation in 2003, Allen served as a volunteer strength and
conditioning coach at Limestone during the fall of 2003 and
continues to play at the Adult Club level.
She was recently selected to travel to Prague in the
Czech Republic with an international team to compete against
their Senior Women’s National Team.
