CLINTON, S.C. – Senior Danielle Gill (Kings Mountain, N.C.) was named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III College Division Volleyball Team as announced by CoSIDA officials on Thursday (November 9) afternoon.

Gill garnered a spot on the third team.  She is a Biology (pre-dental) major at Presbyterian with a 3.36 GPA.  Gill has been named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll three times.  This is her first selection to the all-district team.

Gill was one of 29 student-athletes named to the Academic All-District III College Division Volleyball First, Second, and Third Teams.  The District III College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.  To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve.

A team captain this season, Gill finished her senior campaign second on the team in aces with 0.40 per game, fourth in blocks (0.40) and kills (2.49), and fifth in digs with 2.12 per game.  She notched a career-high 24 kills in the Blue Hose’s 3-1 win over Anderson (S.C.) College, while tallying a career-best 19 digs in a 3-1 loss at Wingate.

Gill also recorded 12 double-digit kill matches as well as 12 double-digit dig matches, while posting seven double-doubles.

Over the course of her career, Presbyterian compiled 103 wins against 43 losses, including a 41-15 mark in the SAC.  The Blue Hose also claimed the conference regular-season title three times and the Food Lion SAC Tournament title in 2004 and 2005, while advancing to the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons.

For her career, Gill played in 78 matches and 214 games, averaging 1.83 kills per game and 1.32 digs per game.
