BLUE HOSE
VOLLEYBALL RELEASES 2006 SCHEDULE
CLINTON,
S.C. –
The 2006 Presbyterian College volleyball schedule features
three tournaments, two matches against Division I programs,
and one tri-meet as announced by first-year head coach
Chris Belshe. The defending Food Lion South Atlantic
Conference Champions will look to build upon last year’s
success as the Blue Hose embark on a new chapter of the
program’s 31-year history under the guidance of PC’s ninth
head coach.
The Lady
Blue Hose open up the 2006 campaign on the road at
nearby
Converse College in Spartanburg as PC takes part in their
invitational on August 25-26. They will face Columbia
College, North Carolina Central University, and USC Upstate
at the Converse Invitational. The team jumpstarts the home
season at Templeton Center on August 30 as the Blue Hose
host Augusta State University at 7:00 p.m.
PC will
spend the first nine days of September on the road as the
Lady Blue Hose will compete at the Valdosta State University
Tournament on September 1-2, commence league play at
Newberry College on the 5th at 7:00, and then participate in
the Armstrong Atlantic State University Tournament on
September 8-9. During that span of travel, PC will face
seven different opponents.
Following their travels to start off September, the Lady
Blue Hose have a seven-date home stand, highlighted by their
match against Big South Conference opponent, Division I
Charleston Southern on September 12 at 7:00 p.m. The home
stand also includes a tri-meet with SAC foe, Catawba
College, and Division I Gardner-Webb University on September
16. A match with Francis Marion University on September 26
at 7:00 p.m. will wrap up the Templeton Center stint.
The Lady
Blue Hose get back on the road for a five-game stretch,
starting at Mars Hill College on September 29 and ending on
October 7 at Catawba College. PC returns to Clinton to host
its Lady Blue Hose Tournament which will feature Catawba,
Florida Gulf Coast University, Francis Marion, Lander
University, new conference member, Lincoln Memorial
University, and North Carolina Central. Following their
October 17 home match against SAC rival, Newberry, the Lady
Blue Hose are off to Tennessee for matches against
Carson-Newman College on October 20 and Tusculum College the
next day.
PC wraps
up the regular season at home against Mars Hill and
Lenoir-Rhyne College on October 27 and 28, respectively.
The Food Lion SAC Tournament will be November 3-4 with
Wingate serving as the host site in Wingate, N.C.
The NCAA
Division II Volleyball Tournament will start with the
regionals on November 11-12. The national semifinals and
final will be on November 16-18 at the University of West
Florida in Pensacola, Fla., as part of the NCAA Division II
Fall Sports Championship Festival.Back
