Volleyball Reports To Campus
CLINTON,
S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team reported for
its first NCAA Division I preseason volleyball camp and its
second preseason camp under Chris Belshe on Tuesday. The
Blue Hose will hold their first practice of the 2007 season
at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the Templeton Center.
“I am so
excited to finally get started on our NCAA Division I
journey,” remarked Belshe the day before the start of camp.
“This program has had success at every level in which it has
competed and on Wednesday we take the first steps toward
similar success at the NCAA Division I level. We have a lot
to prove, but I believe in the group that is here and look
forward to what we can accomplish together.
“The entire
roster has worked extremely hard this summer and we are all
looking forward to seeing the results on the court. We will
take it one practice at a time, but we are all very excited
to get back in the gym.”
The 2007 PC
volleyball team will feature five returning letterman and
seven newcomers, which includes four freshman and three
transfers who enter the PC program as juniors.
The Blue Hose will open the inaugural
NCAA Division I season by traveling to Charlotte, N.C to
play in the UNC Charlotte tournament Aug. 24-25
The Blue Hose will play their first
game of the 2007 season against the Southern Conference’s
Appalachian State at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24.
PC’s first home game of the 2007
campaign will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18 against USC
Upstate at the Templeton Center.
