PC Volleyball Camp Report
CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian
College volleyball team is in its second week of preparation
for the 2007 season.
The team's first season in NCAA
Division I on the horizon, Blue Hose head coach Chris Belshe
has seen obvious improvement in the program in his second
year at the helm.
“We entered camp a little ahead of
where I thought we would be and I am pleased with our
progress,” noted Belshe after a PC practice on Thursday
afternoon. “Our serve- receive and defense is much improved
from last year. Our offense is also beginning to come
together.
“You can tell a distinct difference
between last year and this year. They seem to really
understand the challenges that this year presents and they
are excited and eager to accept them.”
Lone senior Lauren Mason is leading the
way, showing from the outset of preseason camp that her
off-season regimen has proved effective in making her
stronger, quicker and more explosive on the court.
PC and Mason commence the regular
season at the Charlotte Tournament, opening its campaign
with a match against Appalachian State on Aug. 24.
Come See The Blue Hose…
The Blue Hose will hold an intrasquad
scrimmage at the Templeton Center at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday,
Aug. 18. The match will be held inside the Templeton Center
and it is open to the public.
