               PC Ends Home Season With Win Over Methodist

CLINTON, S.C. –
Presbyterian’s women’s lacrosse team closed out its 2007 home campaign with a 17-9 victory on Senior Day over Methodist College at Old Bailey Stadium.

The Lady Blue Hose end their home season with a 5-2 record and a 5-1 mark in the friendly confines of Old Bailey.

Sally Maple continued her torrid play of late in the game for PC, finishing the victory with a game-high tying six points. The Peachtree City, Ga. native had three goals and three assists in the game.

Maple now has a team-best 28 points on the season, including a team-high 12 assists.

PC was led in the scoring department by Brittni Dulaney (Rome, Ga.), who ended the contest with a team-high four goals for the Lady Blue Hose. Dulaney scored PC’s first three goals of the game and all of her goals in the first 30 minutes.

Eight different Lady Blue Hose netted goals in the game with six scoring two or more with Rachel Beaumont (Severna Park, Md.), Jordan Newberry (Atlanta, Ga.), Shannon Strodel (Duluth, Ga.) and Lauren Thomas (Waynesville, N.C.) each netting two.

Thomas also had three ground balls in the victory.

PC senior Kelly Sisson (Greenville, S.C.) also had a goal in her final regular season home game, while Riviere Propst (Greenville, S.C.) scored on a Maple assist with 16:40 left in the game to score PC’s only other goal in the game.

Trista Sturdivant (Street, Md.) picked up an assist in the victory when she found a jumping Maple with 2:22 left in the game.

Andrea DiStefano (Albany, N.Y.) led the Monarchs in the loss, tying Maple with six points on five goals and an assist.

Erin McBurnette (Roswell, Ga.) was strong between the pipes for the Blue Hose, playing all 60 minutes and saving nine Methodist shots. McBurnette also acquired five ground balls for PC.

Lindsey Cosgray played all 60 minutes in net for Methodist, stopping 12 Lady Blue Hose shots and allowing all 17 PC goals.

PC now ends the season with four consecutive road contests. PC will next play Georgian Court at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 1 at the John Carroll School in Bel Air, Md.
