PRESBYTERIAN'S SLOAN NAMED SAC PLAYER OF WEEK

ROCK HILL, SC — Presbyterian College’s Rachel Sloan, of Greenville, SC, has been named this week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Blue Hose to a split last week's league games.  It marks the fourth time the 6-0, senior, forward, from Carolina Academy, has earned the honor this season.

Sloan recorded a double double, with 26 points and 18 rebounds in a losing effort against Wingate.  In the 69-68 loss, she hit on 10-of-21 field goal attempts, connecting on a pair of three- pointers, and adding a pair of assists.  The 18 rebounds tied her career high.  In the 77-46 win over Carson-Newman College, Sloan had 13 points, hitting 6-of-7 shots, and pulled down eight rebounds in 20 minutes of action.  The senior added four assists and a steal in the win.

For the week, Sloan averaged 19.5 points 13.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, while shooting 57.1% from the field.  On the season, she is averaging 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
