PRESBYTERIAN'S SLOAN NAMED SAC PLAYER OF WEEK

CLINTON, SC — Presbyterian College’s Rachel Sloan, of Greenville, SC, has been named this week’s South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second straight week after helping the Blue Hose to a pair of wins last week’s.  It marks the fifth time the 6-0, senior, forward, from Carolina Academy, has earned the honor this season.

Sloan recorded a double double, with 25 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Mars Hill.  In the 72-62 win, she hit on 6-of-13 field goal attempts and 12-of-13 at the line, while adding four assists and four steals.  In the following win over Lenoir-Rhyne, Sloan had 19 points and added six rebounds.  She hit on 6-of-8 field goals and 7-of-8 at the line.

For the week, Sloan averaged 22 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals.  She connected on 57% from the field and 90.5% at the line. 

During the week, she became the league’s all-time leading in field goals made with 671 and became the seventh player in SAC history to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
