BLUE HOSE BASKETBALL BEGINS PRESEASON PRACTICE

CLINTON, SC — Presbyterian College men’s and women’s basketball teams continue their 2000 preseason practice today.

The women’s team, under the direction of 12th-year head coach Beth Couture, held their second day of two-a-day practice. The morning session concentrated on offensive schemes and defensive fundamentals while the afternoon session concentrated transition offense and more defense. “We are very excited about the how hard the team is working,” said Couture. “We have some work to do, but our effort and enthusiasm has been terrific.”

The Blue Hose enter the preseason ranked #18 in the Division II Bulletin preseason poll after returning 11 letterwinners and three starters this season. PC’s countdown to opening night is down to 18 days as they will open the 2000-2001 season at the Disney Tip-off Classic in Orlando, FL. The opening game will be November 3rd against runner-up NCAA Division II champion, North Dakota State University.
