BLUE HOSE CRUISE PAST LADY EAGLES 77-46
PC places four players in double figures

CLINTON, SC – Presbyterian College junior forward Toni Leopard (Ninety-Six, SC) scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Blue Hose past Carson-Newman College in South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action Saturday afternoon.

PC took a 35-20 lead into halftime after shooting 60.9% from the field in the first half while holding the Lady Eagles to 29.6%. The Blue Hose hit four-of-seven three pointers in the first half to lead the way.

The second saw the Blue Hose use 9-3 run to open the second half and push the lead to 44-23 with 17:20 remaining. PC pushed the lead to as many as 33 points in the second half (77-44) with 1:05 remaining.

All 12 Blue Hose players played in the game today with 11 scoring in the contest.

Presbyterian was led by Leopard’s 19 points while senior center Rachel Sloan (Greenville, SC) scored 13 points with eight rebounds. Rounding out the double figure scorers for PC was senior wing Tracy Woody (Mauldin, SC) who tallied 10 points and four assists while junior guard Nicole Chittam (Lancaster, SC) came off the bench for 10 points on two-of-four shooting from beyond the arc.

Carson-Newman was led by freshman forward Staci Dunn (Parrottsville, TN) who tallied 14 points and eight rebounds while junior guard Megan McBee (Rutledge, TN) added 12 points.

The Blue Hose improve to 18-6 overall, 8-2 in the SAC while Carson-Newman  falls to 6-15 overall and 2-8 in league play.
