BLUE HOSE CRUISE PAST LADY INDIANS 82-52
PC’s Sloan leads three Blue Hose in double figures 
with game-high 19 points

NEWBERRY, SC-- Presbyterian College’s trio of All-SAC performers in seniors Rachel Sloan (Greenville, SC) and Tracy Woody (Mauldin, SC) and junior Toni Leopard (Ninety-Six, SC) all scored in double figures to lead the Blue Hose to a 82-52 SAC road win over Newberry College Saturday night.

The Blue Hose jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first eight minutes of the game thanks in part to seven early points by junior guard Katie Davis (Gainesville, GA). Davis finished the game with nine points and four rebounds. PC extended the lead to as many as 26 points on three occasions in the first half and held a commanding 44-20 lead at intermission. The Blue Hose shot 45.7% from the field in the first frame while holding the Lady Indians to only 30.8%.

PC opened the second half on a 14-8 run to push the lead to 30 points at 56-26 with 14:58 remaining. The lead grew to as many as 37 points (74-37) with 7:12 remaining, but the Lady Indians outscored the Blue Hose 13-6 to end the game to cut to 82-52 for the final score.

The Blue Hose were led by Sloan’s game-high 19 points and added six rebounds. Woody chipped in 16 points and Leopard rounded out the double figure scorers with 14 points. Ten of 12 Blue Hose that dressed scored in the game. PC improves to 15-5 overall and 6-1 in the South Atlantic Conference.

Newberry was led by junior guard Katina Roseborough (Winnsboro, SC) who tallied a team-best 12 points while junior forward Shawanna Cook (Loris, SC) added eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds. The Lady Indians drop to 4-14 overall and 0-7 in the league.
