BLUE HOSE CRUSH PIONEERS 92-53 Clinton, SC - Presbyterian College senior center Rachel Sloan (Greenville, SC) tallied a game-high 22 points and added 14 rebounds and eight assists to to lead the Blue Hose to a 92-53 win over Tusculum College in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action. PC took a 32-28 lead into halftime after a sluggish first half where they shot 38.7% from the field. Tusculum cut the lead to open the second half to one point on a three-point play by sophomore center Whitney Campbell (Oak Ridge, TN) at the 19:48 mark. Sloan's double-double (points-rebounds) was her 34th of her career. The Blue Hose turned the game around at that point with a 19-4 run to take a commanding 51-35 lead at the 13:28 mark. PC controlled the game from that point, pushing the lead to as many as 41 points (92-51) with 2:00 minutes to play. PC was led by freshman Billie Haskins (Greensboro, GA) added a career-high 17 points off the bench on six-of-eight shooting from the field. Joining Haskins was senior wing Tracy Woody (Mauldin, SC) who scored 14 points with six rebounds while junior forward Toni Leopard (Ninety-Six, SC) added 13 points and four rebounds. Tusculum was led by Campbell who scored 17 points with three rebounds while sophomore forward Lauren Sowers (Jonesborough, TN) added 12 points. PC dominated the game on the boards, holding a 51-28 advantage and forced 22 turnovers on the day. The Blue Hose improve to 10-4 overall, 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference play while Tusculum falls to 7-4 overall, 0-1 in the SAC.
