#2 SEED BLUE HOSE ADVANCE TO FOOD LION/SAC TOURNAMENT
WITH 83-47 WIN OVER #7 SEED TUSCULUM COLLEGE
PC’s bench scores 36 points in Blue Hose victory

CLINTON, SC — Presbyterian College junior forward Merritt Misner (Decatur, GA) came off the bench to score eight points and added four rebounds along with three blocks as the #2 seed Blue Hose win 83-47 over #7 seed Tusculum College in Food Lion/ SAC Tournament first round action.

PC jumped out to a 31-18 lead first half and never looked back. The Blue Hose took a 39-22 lead into intermission as seven different players scored. The Lady Pioneers were held to 31.0% shooting in the first half and had 12 turnovers.

The second half saw PC extend the lead to as many as 39 points (81-42) with 2:08 remaining. PC hit 19-of-24 free throws in the second half to seal the win.

PC was led by senior center Rachel Sloan (Greenville, SC) who tallied 14 points and six rebounds and junior forward Toni Leopard (Ninety-Six, SC) added 10 points. Senior wing Tracy Woody (Mauldin, SC) added nine points, four assists, and three rebounds in victory.

Tusculum was led by sophomore center Whitney Campbell (Oak Ridge, TN) who tallied 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Presbyterian improves to 22-7 on the season while Tusculum ends the season at 9-17.

The Blue Hose will play the winner of #3 seed Wingate University and #6 seed Carson-Newman College this Friday night at 6:00 pm in the SAC Tournament semifinals held in Hickory, NC.
