BUTLER
NAMED BLUE HOSE
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ASSISTANT COACH
CLINTON,
SC — Stephanie Butler has been named
Presbyterian College women’s basketball assistant coach
announced today by 1st-year head coach Leigh
Irwin.
Butler comes to
Presbyterian College from Gaffney High School where she served
as head coach for the girl’s basketball team last season.
Butler will be in charge of
the program’s recruiting and scouting along with helping
Coach Irwin in all other aspects of the program.
Prior to her stint at
Gaffney High School, she served as assistant girl’s
basketball coach and head coach of the junior varsity squad at
Byrnes High School from 1999-2001. In addition, she also
served as head volleyball coach at D.R. Hill Middle School.
Butler brings valuable
coaching experience to the program having been an assistant
coach with the Carolina Breeze 16 and under AAU squad which
won the 1999 S.C. state champion and were runner-up for the
national title.
Butler earned her Bachelors
of Science degree from Southern Wesleyan University in 1998.
“I am very excited to add
a coach of Stephanie’s ability to our program,” said
Irwin. “She will be a valuable asset to our program both on
and off the court.”
