HOSE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SIGNS THREE MORE RECRUITS CLINTON,
SC — Wesley Campbell, Cameron Cook, and Erin
Wright have signed a national letters of intent to play
women’s basketball at Presbyterian College announced today
by 13th-year head coach Beth
Couture. Campbell, a 5-11 wing
averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5
blocks last season while playing at Greenville High School in
Greenville, S.C. for head coach Pam Player. She helped lead the her high school to a 25-5 overall
record and trip to the semifinal round of the Upper State
Playoffs. Individually she was named to the all-Region and
All-County teams and participated in the North/South All-Star
Game. Cook, a 6-1 post averaged
17.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists last season while
playing at Wesleyan Christian Academy in Greensboro, N.C. for
head coach Sherry Ingram. She helped lead her team to a 21-9 mark this past
season while earning conference Player of the Year honors. In
addition, she was named N.C. All-State and garnered MVP honors
at the High Point Enterprise Classic and the Piedmont Classic
during the season. Wright, a 5-11 post
averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while
playing at Clover High School and head coach Sherer
Hopkins. She helped lead her team to a 19-8 record while
earning All-Region for the fourth straight year. She finishes
her high school career with 1,704 career points which is a
school record. In addition, she was named to the Rock
Hill Herald’s All-Area team each of the last four
seasons. “We are very excited to
sign three quality student-athletes that we feel will
contribute to the continued success and tradition of this
program,” said Couture. Campbell, Cook, and Wright
join Rebecca Wessinger of
Laurens, S.C. and Anna
Sheppard of Norcross, Ga. who already signed with
Presbyterian College earlier this year. Presbyterian, led by 13th-year
head coach Beth Couture
who owns a 258-117 career record in 13 seasons, is coming
off this past season’s 21-9 campaign which included a
runner-up finish for the South Atlantic Conference
regular season and Food Lion Tournament titles. In addition,
the Blue Hose advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for
the sixth time in the past eight years. |
