BLUE HOSE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CAPTURES AASU/CHATHAM ORTHOPEDICS TIPOFF CLASSIC TITLE
PC's Leopard earns Tournament MVP honors

SAVANNAH, GA - The Presbyterian College women's basketball team captured the AASU/Chatham Orthopedics TipOff Classic title with a 88-70 victory over Fayetteville State University on Saturday evening at AASU's Alumni Arena.

The Blue Hose (2-0), led by tournament MVP Toni Leopard's 22 points and 13 rebounds, picked up their second TipOff Classic title with the victory. Presbyterian, who also won the 1999 TipOff Classic, also got a double-double from freshman Dana Birnie (22 points, 10 rebounds) and 14 points from Bonnie Werner. The Lady Broncos (1-1) were led by Bradsheedah Elohim's 15 points and Deonda Greene's 14 points.

Leopard, Birnie, and Werner all earned TipOff Class All-Tournament honors for the Blue Hose. Leopard was named MVP after averaging 21.5 points and 8.0 rebounds for the tournament.

Presbyterian returns home to host instate rival, Francis Marion University in their 2001-02 home opener, Tuesday, November 20 at 7:00 pm in the Ross E. Templeton Center.
