BLUE HOSE DEFEAT LOW COUNTRY ALL-STARS 88-48 
PC’s Leopard scores 17 points to lead Blue Hose to exhibition win

CLINTON, SC — Presbyterian College senior forward Toni Leopard (Ninety-Six, SC) scored a team-high 17 points and added nine rebounds to lead three Blue Hose in double figures as PC defeated the Low Country All-Stars 88-48 in exhibition action Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Hose led throughout the game, taking a commanding 27-16 lead with 7:05 remaining first half. PC went on a 14-6 run to end the half and led 41-22 at intermission. The All-Stars turned the ball over 13 times in the first half and were limited to 36.0% from the field. Leopard led the way for PC with 13 first-half points.

Presbyterian went on a 21-4 run to open the second half to open a commanding 62-26 lead with 12:39 remaining. The Blue Hose improved their shooting in the second half, hitting 19-of-39 field goals, good for a 48.7% field goal percentage.

The Blue Hose dominated the boards, holding a 62-37 advantage including 23 offensive rebounds for the game.

Joining Leopard for scoring honors was senior guard Katie Davis (Gainesville, GA) who tallied 11 points while freshman forward Dana Birnie (Suwanee, GA) came off the bench to score 11 points and add six rebounds. Sophomore guard Bonnie Werner (Kennesaw, GA) led the team with eight assists while redshirt freshman forward Lauren Yanik (Greer, SC) came off the bench to pull down nine rebounds.

The All-Stars were led by former College of Charleston standout, Keilli Garrett scored a team-high 16 points with four steals while former University of South Carolina standout, Audrey Ramsey added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Presbyterian will open the 2001-02 regular season this Friday night, November 16 as they participate in the Armstrong Atlantic State University Tip-off Classic where they will play Ferris State University in the first round.
