PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL 
ANNOUNCES THREE SIGNEE

CLINTON, S.C. — Brittany Bonaparte, Brittany Carroll, and Beth Neeley have signed national letters of intent to play women’s basketball at Presbyterian College announced today by head coach Leigh Irwin.

Bonaparte, a 5-9 guard/forward from Irmo, S.C., played for Dutch Fork High School and head coach Anne Long. This past season, she averaged 8.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.0 steals while helping lead her team to a 22-6 overall record and a runner-up finish for the 4-A state title each of the last two seasons. She was named to the all-region team and selected to play in the North/South All-Star Game.

“We are very excited to sign a player from an outstanding Dutch Fork program,” said Irwin.  “A tireless defender with a knack for rebounding the basketball, Brittany will make a wonderful addition to our program.”

Carroll, a 5-6 combo guard from Dunn, N.C., played for Midway High School and head coach Tony Denning. This past season, she averaged 15.2 points, 8.8 assists, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 steals while leading her team to a 22-3 overall record. The four-year starter helped her team compile a four-year mark of 88-12 while scoring 1,250 career points in her high school career. She was named the 2003 Fampson County Player of the Year as well as being nominated for the Wendy’s Heisman Trophy award. During her junior year, she was named North Carolina State Championship MVP while leading her team to a 24-4 mark. Off the court, Brittany has received the Coca-Cola Scholar-Athlete and U.S. Marine Scholar-Athlete Awards while serving as class president as a junior and class vice-president as a senior.

“Brittany is a perfect fit for PC and our basketball program.  The combination of her ability to score and pass will add much depth at the 1/2 position.  She is an excellent student as well!”

Neely, a 5-9 guard/forward from Laurens, S.C. plays for Laurens District 55 High School and head coach and former Blue Hose All-American, Rachel Bullard. This past season, she averaged 11.1 points and 5.8 rebounds while being named to the all-region team. She helped lead her team to a 15-7 overall record as a senior and was a member of the 2000-01 Lauren High School state championship team.

“We are very pleased to add a local player with Beth’s character to our program.  She brings athleticism, an ability to rebound and shoot the 3 point shot.”
