CLINTON, SC – Presbyterian College junior guard Billie Haskins (Greensboro, Ga.) tallied a game-high 24 points to lead three Blue Hose in double figures as PC upset SAC leader Catawba College 77-64 in women’s basketball action Wednesday night.

The Lady Indians (14-4, 5-1 SAC) entered the game ranked #1 in the South Atlantic Region and had their 11-game win streak snapped. The Blue Hose improved to 7-10 overall and 3-3 in the SAC with the victory.

The Blue Hose opened the game on a 22-11 run and held a double figure lead throughout the first half. PC shot 48.1% in the first half while Catawba shot equally well at 45.2%, but PC dominated the boards at 22-13. Presbyterian got a big first half out of their starting backcourt of juniors Bonnie Werner (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Haskins. Werner and Haskins combined for 29 of PC’s 45 first half points with Werner tallying 13 points and Haskins leading all scorers with 16.
