BLUE HOSE BASKETBALL LISTED AMONG NCAA LEADERS
PC’s Haskins ranked 9th in the nation in 3-Point FG%
 

CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College basketball teams is listed among the NCAA Division II leaders in the latest statistics announced this week. 

For the women’s basketball team (12-14, 7-7 SAC), junior guard Billie Haskins (Greensboro, Ga.) dropped four spots to 9th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (43.8%). The team, led by first-year head coach Leigh Irwin, jumped one spot to 11th in the nation in free throw percentage at 76.3%.   

On the men’s basketball team (23-7, 9-5 SAC) led by 14th-year head coach Gregg Nibert, dropped one spot to fifth in the nation in scoring defense (59.2 pts/gm) and dropped two spots to 11th in three-point field goal percentage (40.9%).

The Blue Hose men’s and women’s basketball teams return to action today as they begin quarterfinal action in the 2003 Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The women’s team, seeded #6, travel to Hickory, N.C. tonight to take on the #3 seeded Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne College at 6:00 pm. The PC men’s team, seeded #4, host the #5 seeded Pioneers of Tusculum College tonight at the Ross E. Templeton P.E. Center for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
