PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RELEASES 2004-05 SCHEDULE

CLINTON, S.C. — Twelve home dates highlight the 2004-05 Presbyterian College 28-game regular season women’s basketball schedule announced today by first-year head coach Jessica Vanco.

PC will open the season at home on November 15 as they host the Flying Fleet of Erskine College. The Blue Hose will participate in the Queen City Tip-Off Classic in Belmont, N.C on November 18-19. The Blue Hose will take on CVAC members and host Belmont Abbey College and Queens University of Charlotte at the Classic. The Blue Hose continue their early season road trip with a stop in Florence, S.C. to take on instate rival Francis Marion University on November 23. The month will end with a road trip to Greenwood, S.C. to participate in the SAC/PBC Clash hosted by Lander University. PC will play Columbus State University (11/26) and host Lander University (11/27) during the Clash.

PC opens the month of December with a road game against USC Upstate (12/1) followed by a home games against Armstrong Atlantic State University (12/4) and Johnson C. Smith University (12/7). The team’s final contest prior to the Christmas holiday will take place on December 8th with a road trip to Tigerville, S.C. to face North Greenville College.

The new year will open with a home game against USC Aiken on January 2, followed by a road game against Anderson College (12/3). The Blue Hose open South Atlantic Conference play in January with a road game against Mars Hill College on January 8 before a home game against Wingate University (1/12). The Blue Hose hit the road for matchups against Carson-Newman College (1/15) and Newberry College (1/19), before returning home to host Lenoir-Rhyne College (1/22) and Tusculum College (1/26). The month ends with a road trip to face Catawba College (1/29).

The month of February opens with a non-conference home game with Converse College (2/1) followed by a home game against Mars Hill College (2/5). PC will return to the road for a trip to Wingate, N.C. to take on Wingate University (2/9), followed by home games against Carson-Newman College (2/12) and Newberry College (2/16). PC’s final regular season road trip will be against Lenoir-Rhyne College (2/19) and Tusculum College (2/23) before returning home on February 26 to host Catawba College for Senior Night.

The 2004-05 Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Tournament will open on March 2nd with first round matches for the top four seeds. The semifinals and finals will be held from March 4-6 in Hickory, NC on the campus of the Catawba Valley Community College.

“Our schedule is very competitive including a tough non-conference schedule which will prepare us for the South Atlantic Conference regular season,” said Vanco. “We are looking forward to the challenge each and every night.”

The Blue Hose are coming off last season’s 8-20 overall record and a seventh place finish in the South Atlantic Conference regular season race.
