PC’S REBECCA WESSINGER NAMED
SAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCK HILL, S.C.-- Senior forward Rebecca Wessinger, of Presbyterian College, has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 27 announced today by the league office.  The Laurens, S.C., native helped the Lady Blue Hose to a pair of wins in three outings during the week.

Wessinger, a product of Lauren High School, opened the week with a 26-point effort in an overtime loss to USC Upstate.  Those points helped her became the 16th Presbyterian College women’s basketball player to reach 1,000 career points.  The pre-season All-SAC pick followed that up by scoring 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds in a win over Alderson-Broaddus and closed the week by tallying 14 points in a win over Davis & Elkins.

For the week, Wessinger averaged 20.3 points and six rebounds.  She dished out eight assists, with six coming against Upstate. Wessinger canned half of her field goal attempts (23-of-46), hitting six three-pointers. She is averaging 17.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game on the season for the Lady Blue Hose.

The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is voted on by the Sports Information Directors of the eight member schools.
