Thursday, February 9, 2006PC’S WESSINGER & CAMPBELL NAMED TO THE 2006 ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College women’s basketball players Rebecca Wessinger and Wesley Campbell have been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine® Academic All-District III Women's Basketball Teams announced today.
She also ranks 5th in field goal percentage, 9th in free throw percentage, 10th in field goal percentage, and 12th in the SAC in offensive rebounding. In the classroom, she carries a cumulative GPA of 3.94 while majoring in biology. She has been selected to the South Atlantic Conference Academic Honor for three straight years, while being named to the school’s Dean’s List (3.3 GPA) for four semesters and to the President’s List (4.0 GPA) for three semesters. Wessinger will now advance to the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration. Members of the Academic All-District team are determined by a vote by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) from District III.
In the classroom, Campbell carries a cumulative GPA of 3.83, while majoring in biology. She has been selected to the South Atlantic Conference Academic Honor for three straight years, while being named to the school’s Dean’s List (3.3 GPA) for six semesters and to the President’s List (4.0 GPA) for one semester.
