BLUE HOSE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RANKED FIFTH IN LATEST
 NCAA DIVISION II SOUTH ATLANTIC REGION POLL

CLINTON, S.C. — The Presbyterian College women’s basketball program remained fifth in the latest NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region poll announced Wednesday by the NCAA selection committee.

The top 10 teams in each of the NCAA’s Division II regions were ranked in the poll. Teams will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis through March 1. On March 5, the 64-team field for the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championships will be announced, with the top eight teams from each region advancing to participate. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, the team that wins the 2006 Food Lion SAC Tournament will receive the automatic bid.

The Lady Blue Hose (16-3, 5-1 SAC), under the direction of 2nd-year head coach Jessica Vanco, are ranked fifth in the women’s poll. Presbyterian is one of three South Atlantic Conference schools ranked in the top 10, with Wingate University moving to the top spot this week, followed by Mars Hill College (No. 8).

The Lady Blue Hose return to action on Saturday, January 28 when they host the Indians of Catawba College for a 2:00 pm tip-off.
