BLUE HOSE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL MOVES TO FOURTH IN LATEST
 NCAA DIVISION II SOUTH ATLANTIC REGION POLL

CLINTON, S.C. — The Presbyterian College women’s basketball program moved up one spot to fourth in the latest NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region poll announced Wednesday by the NCAA selection committee.

The top 10 teams in each of the NCAA’s Division II regions were ranked in the poll. Teams will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis through March 1. On March 5, the 64-team field for the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championships will be announced, with the top eight teams from each region advancing to participate. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, the team that wins the 2006 Food Lion SAC Tournament will receive the automatic bid.

The Lady Blue Hose (17-3, 6-1 SAC), under the direction of 2nd-year head coach Jessica Vanco, are ranked fourth in this week’s women’s poll. Presbyterian is one of four South Atlantic Conference schools ranked in the top 10, with Wingate University dropped to second this week, followed by Carson-Newman College (No. 9), and Mars Hill College (No. 10).

The Lady Blue Hose return to action on Saturday, February 4 when they travel to Mars Hill, N.C. to take on Mars Hill College (No. 10 region) at 2:00 pm.
