Brooks
Chosen As Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach At PC
CLINTON, S.C. – Holly Brooks was
recently named as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at
Presbyterian College by Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jessica
Vanco and PC Director of Athletics Dr. William B. “Bee” Carlton.
“We are extremely excited to have Holly
join the Presbyterian College family,” remarked Vanco. “Coach
Brooks comes to PC with a strong basketball background and an
intense work ethic that will rub off on our student-athletes.
She brings excitement to our program that couple d with her
desire to win will help us on and off the basketball court.”
Brooks comes to PC from Concord
University where she served as an assistant coach during the
2005-06 season.
During her time with the Athens, WV
institution, Brooks orchestrated the Lady Lions strength and
conditioning program and skill groups, while also assisting with
gameday strategies. Brooks also helped the head coach with game
preparation, scouting opposing teams and with assessing talent
in regards to recruiting the right student-athlete for Concord
women’s basketball.
A 2004 graduate of Iowa State University
with a B.A. in Elementary Education, Brooks spent the season
prior to her one-year stint at Concord as an Assistant Women’s
Basketball Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Grand View
College where she had commenced her collegiate studies.
Brooks played at Grand View for one
season before sustaining a career-ending knee injury.
