still finished with the most points on the Presbyterian side of
things with 22 points.
Edward Waters only led once in the contest
and came as close as three at 68-65 in the final two minutes of
the game. Presbyterian hit four free throws in the final two
minutes to place the game out of reach.
The Lady Tigers one lead was at 10-9 in the
first half. Presbyterian went on an 11-0 run to make it 20-10
before Edward Waters’ Ruth Waters hit a shot to thwart the run.
The Lady Bluse Hose commenced the evening
by taking an 8-2 lead in the first two minutes courtesy of two
Bridget Tackach three-pointers.
Waters concluded the first game of the
Newberry Classic for Edward Waters with a game-high 27 points.
The Lady Blue Hose as a team shot better
than 48% in the victory. PC held the Lady Tigers to 37%.
