Francis Marion Snaps PC’s Two-Game Winning Streak
FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion’s Brittany
Young tied her career high with a game-high 25 points in FMU’s
66-57 victory over Presbyterian on Tuesday evening at the Smith
University Center. Young was 10-for-13 from the field.
The Lady Patriots’ Katherine Kiefer chimed
in with 15 of her own in the victory.
Presbyterian's Morgan Johnson tallied her
third double-digit rebounding game in the loss. The Marietta,
Ga. native has not secured less than nine rebounds in a game in
the young season.
Presbyterian was led in the loss in the
scoring column by a trio of players in Amy Jones, Bridget Takach
and Kerianne Blease.
Jones led all Lady Blue Hose scorers with
16 points. The guard also collected a team-best four assists and
three steals.
Takach finished the contest with 13 points,
with nine of the points scored from beyond the three-point line.
The Chapin High School product was 3-for-4 on her three-point
attempts on the night.
Blease concluded the game with 11 points in
22 minutes on the court. The Saluda, S.C. native had four
rebounds.
Presbyterian (2-2) has six days off before
returning to the court next Monday on the road against Georgia
College & State in Milledgeville, Ga. Tip-off is slated for
5:30.
The Lady Blue Hose will play their first
home tilt of the season two days later, entertaining Converse at
6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the Templeton Center.
