Lincoln Memorial Claims
First Ever SAC Victory With Win Over PC
CLINTON, S.C. – Lincoln Memorial’s women’s
basketball program claimed its first ever South Atlantic
Conference women’s basketball victory on Wednesday evening with
a 74-68 win over Presbyterian College at the Templeton Center.
Lincoln Memorial improves to 1-3 in league
play and 8-6 overall, while Presbyterian loses its fifth
straight game to fall to 0-4 in SAC action and 5-10 overall.
Five Lady Railsplitters concluded the
victory over PC in double figures.
Andi Hilley (Yorktown, Ind.) had 11 points
and 10 boards to finish with a double-double, while Wiseman
Alcema (West Palm Beach, Fla.) led LMU in scoring with 14 points
and four rebounds.
The Lady Blue Hose were led in the loss by
Sharie Hopkins, who in only her second game back in a
Presbyterian uniform began to show signs of her 2005-06 form.
Hopkins had a game-high 18 points in the
game. The Chesepeake, Va. native was almost perfect from the
field in the contest, going 9-for-10.
Hopkins was one of three Lady Blue Hose in
double-digits. Bridget Takach (Chapin, S.C.) had 17 points and
four assists, while Lea Smith (Marion, N.C) finished the contest
with 10 points and two blocks.
Presbyterian will try and obtain its first
league win of the season at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 when
they play host to Catawba at the Templeton Center in the first
game of a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader.
