McPhatter Named Assistant
Women’s Basketball Coach At PC
CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College
women’s basketball head coach Jessica Vanco announced the hiring
of Dionna McPhatter as an assistant coach on Monday. McPhatter’s
main on-court responsibilities with the Lady Blue Hose will be
guard play and offense.
“I am very excited about Dionna joining our
staff, “ said Vanco. “She brings a tremendous amount of
enthusiasm and energy to our program. As a graduate of Army she
also brings with her a strong academic background and NCAA
Division I playing experience.”
McPhatter graduated cum laude from the
United States Military Academy with a Bachelors of Science in
General Management with a concentration in Systems Engineering.
A National Merit Scholarship winner,
McPhatter was a four-year letterwinner as a point guard on the
women’s basketball team at Army. Vanco coached McPhatter during
her sophomore season when she was an assistant coach at Army.
A two-time Ohio High School Division I
state champion (1998, ’99) with Pickerington High School in
Pickerington, Ohio, McPhatter was a member of her high school’s
Associated Press National Championship squad in 1999.
Prior to joining the Lady Blue Hose,
McPhatter served as a coach for a 10-and-under youth team that
won two state championships.
She worked for two years as a Consumer
Market Knowledge Associate Manager on the Wal-Mart Customer Team
before taking a job prior to PC as a Consumer and Market
Knowledge Manager at Global Mega-Brand Development.
