BLUE HOSE CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS FORRESTER & BRADEN NAMED TO NCAA DIVISION II SOUTHEAST ALL-REGION TEAMS

GREENSBORO, NC — Presbyterian College cross country runners freshman Tanith Forrester (Lexington, SC) and senior Zach Braden (Covington, GA) were named to the NCAA Division II Southeast All-Region teams announced over the weekend.

Forrester, a product of Lexington High School, helped lead the Blue Hose women’s cross country team to a program-record four meet wins during the regular season. In the 2000 SAC Championships, Forrester won the individual meet and led the team to a third place finish while picking up SAC Player and Freshman of the Year honors. This past weekend, Forrester narrowly missed a bid to advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament as an individual, finishing third but led the team to a fifth place at the regional. Forrester won two meets, including the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational, during the 2000 season and her worst finish was a fourth place at the Land of Sky Invitational.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams are under the direction of third-year head coach Leigh Irwin. Irwin and assistant coach Mike Rosolino helped lead the program to it’s most successful season ever. The program started five years ago as a club sport and now has become one of the top up and coming programs in NCAA Division II.
