BLUE HOSE CROSS COUNTRY INKS 2 SIGNEES

CLINTON, S.C. — Kayla Cooper and Katie Whipple have signed national letters of intent with Presbyterian College women’s cross country program announced today.

Cooper, a native of Lexington, SC, is a senior at Lexington High School where she ran for former Blue Hose alumni and head coach Bailey Harris. Cooper is a two-time All-Region selection in track during her high school career.

Whipple, a native of Columbia, S.C., is a senior at Irmo High School where she ran for  head coach Mike Moore. Whipple is a four-time All-Region selection and was named to the All-State team each of the last two seasons and is the daughter of Irmo High School head boy’s basketball coach Tim Whipple.  

Cooper and Whipple become the first signees for the women’s cross country program this year.

The Blue Hose are coming off their best season in program history in 2000 as the women’s team posted four meet wins and eight top five finishes. In addition, the women’s program finished ranked #4 in the Southeast region, placed third at the South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships and advanced to the NCAA Regionals.
