PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE MEN’S & WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS HOLD ANNUAL BANQUET 
Whipple & Forrester named Co-MVP for the women

CLINTON, SC — The Presbyterian College men’s and women’s cross country teams held their annual awards banquet last night.  

It was a grand occasion celebrating the 2001 Season.  Both teams had good seasons. The women’s team finished runner-up in three meets and were ranked in the top 10 for the region in 5 out of 8 polls.  The men finished as runner-ups in two meets and ended the season as the number 10 in the region.

Several individuals were recognized at the banquet including:

Kate Whipple Women’s Team Co-MVP and Newcomer of the Year

Whipple, a freshman from Lexington, SC, finished as either the first or second runner on the team in every meet this season. She led the Blue Hose at both the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Meet and the NCAA Division II Regional Meet this year.

Tanith Forrester Women’s Team Co-MVP and Co-Team Captain

Forrester, a sophomore from Lexington, SC, finished as either the first or second runner on the team at every meet this year and showed her leadership every day in practice by pushing her teammates to run faster and to work harder.

Katie Lenhart Scotsman Achievement Award and Co-Team Captain

Lenhart, a junior from Atlanta, GA, worked hard to battle through injuries throughout the season.  Her hard work was rewarded as she finished third on the team at the SAC meet.  Katie was a team leader this year in motivating her teammates and building team unity.  She is a leader in several religious organizations on campus and served the as team chaplain. She has also maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her tenure at PC.
